Marseille Linked With Gervinho's Move

14 June 2013 - 14:21

Gervinho Lombe, Arsenal's forward has drawn huge attention from the French Ligue 1 club, Marseille. This has been confirmed by the club's assistant coach Franck Passi.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • According to Franck, the Ligue 1 outfit looks upon the Ivory Coast international as the sort of skilful wide player who would suit them, along with Diego Capel, the Sporting Lisbon winger who also has been Marseille's interest for some time now.

In his own words, "This is a profile that interests us, yes. We want flank players, with dribbling, passing and scoring and Gervinho has this profile."

Gervinho has not been much of a spark lately, having scored only five goals in 18 league appearances and just 11 goals since his time with the club. Arsene Wenger also looks to release Gervinho in an attempt to reconsolidate his side with new names.

With things going the way they are, it shouldn't come as a surprise if Gervinho makes an exit from Arsenal soon to join the French outfit of OM.
