Hughes flattered by Spurs link

Hughes flattered by Spurs link

27 October 2007 - 11:50

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes admitted he has been "flattered" by reports that Tottenham were interested in bringing him in as their coach. Tottenham have since agreed a deal to bring Juande Ramos to the club.

  • Arsenal make surprise decision on Viktor Gyokeres
  • Arsenal to battle Napoli to sign Alexsandro Ribeiro?

  • Spurs are however looking set to name Juande Ramos as the boss as the Spaniard has resigned from Sevilla.

Referring to speculation, Hughes, whose side take on the north London club at the Lane tomorrow, said in the Mirror: "It was flattering. Players have speculation about them moving all the time and that is a reflection on how well they are doing. It's the same for managers.

"My view is that Martin Jol lost his job and that suggested that any appointment was already in place."
