21 June 2013 - 12:50

Arsenal are reportedly on the verge of making a move for Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama, as they look to add more stability to their midfield organisation.

  • Arsenal have lacked a gritty midfield enforcer since Patrick Vieira left in 2005. Alex Song did look the perfect fit until his departure to the Catalan club while Abou Diaby could only produce in fleeting moments of rare, injury-free promise.

Although Alex could make a sensational return to the Emirates, it is believed that Wenger will reject his plea and go for the Kenyan International Wanyama.

The 21-year-old has been impressive and has attracted interest all over Europe. But it seems that it will be destination Emirates as his mentor Jean-Marie Abeels revealed that the Gunners manager Arsene Wenger had made an approach for the midfielder towards the back end of last season.

According to reports ,Celtic are ready to accept the sale of the Kenyan midfielder for a fee of excess of £10m.

The Kenyan International would be a very good addition to the Gunners squad and it will be very interesting to see in the coming days if Wenger is willing to match the price tag.
