Swansea City deny Ashley Williams offers

23 June 2013 - 06:53

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted towards the end of last season that Swansea City defender Ashley Williams is a player that interests him. However, it appears that reports crediting the Gunners with a mega money move for the Wales captain appear to be wide of the mark.

 • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
 • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
 • The 29-year-old centre back impressed last year for the Swans sufficiently enough to see the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal both send scouts to take in the player in action. The player, who has been with Swansea for 5 years, is now ready to make a transfer to a bigger team.
As the Gunners try their best to dissuade the likes of Bayern Munich from making transfer bids for star defender Laurent Koscielny, rumours linking the Gunners with a transfer for Williams continue to circulate.
However, Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins doesn't have any plan to sell Williams, despite the reports suggesting a move: "While there seems to be constant speculation about Ashley Williams, I can honestly say that I haven’t had one call from anybody about him."
