Swansea City are hopeful that a deal that will see Jonathan De Guzman return to the Liberty Stadium on a second season-long loan can be completed before the end of this coming week.
Villarreal have quoted Swansea a massive £7 million transfer fee for the Dutch international, a figure that the Welsh club are currently unwilling to spend on the creative midfielder.
Instead, the Swans have returned with a loan offer believed to be worth around £500,000 a season to the Spanish club.
De Guzman enjoyed a wholesome first season in the Premier League with Swansea and told manager Michael Laudrup that he would like to return if possible.
