Several reports suggest that Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Barcelona’s midfielder, Thiago Alcantara. According to SportsDirectNews and IBtimes, Thiago will reportedly leave FC Barcelona for £17 million.
The agreement had already taken shape last week but Barcelona showed reluctance to accept Man Utd's transfer bid as they wanted to convince Thiago to stay at the Nou Camp.
Barcelona wanted to convince Thiago he would be part of their first team plans next year. But it seems now that the Catalans have resigned themselves to the fact that the talented youngster will exit the club this summer.
Thiago, who is on a holiday, has left his father and representatives to do the talking with the Catalans.
The 22-year-old midfielder had to compete for first-team chances with the likes of Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez, allowing him limited chances to play and he doesn’t see the situation improving in the next season.
Thiago is keen to secure a spot in the Spanish 2014 World Cup squad and United have assured him that he will be a starter for the club.
