Ancelotti Targets Andrea Pirlo

Ancelotti Targets Andrea Pirlo

29 June 2013 - 20:23

Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly targeted the veteran footballer Andrea Pirlo for a summer move this year. The new manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen on making the Italian star his next signing for the club, as suggested by media reports.

  • Reports in Spain claim that Ancelotti would like a reunion with his former club acquaintance at Real Madrid. The duo relished each other’s company at AC Milan, where they won great success. Since his time at Milan, Ancelotti has gone on to win titles in England and France and Pirlo has also had his share of footballing success at both club and country level.

It would be interesting to see Juventus’ approach to Ancelotti’s interest in their star player. It is believed that the former Chelsea coach tried to sign his former player during his tenure at the Stamford Bridge but Pirlo reportedly snubbed him in favour of a San Siro stay. Nonetheless, a call from Bernabeu might be tempting for the veteran player.

Pirlo has been in great form on the pitch, as was witnessed recently in the Confederations Cup, where he led his team to the semi-finals of the tournament. It is difficult to guess Pirlo’s take on the matter considering his bonding with both Juventus and Ancelotti.
