Cabral, Roberge and Diakite join Sunderland

Sunderland have completed moves for Valentin Roberge, Cabral and Modibo Diakite on free transfers as the transfer window opened today. The Black Cats were quick to wrap up their signings at the end of last season.

Maritimo failed to agree terms with Roberge whilst Basel releasedCabral, and Lazio also could not agree terms with Diakite despite wanting to keep the burly defender. Sunderland are sure to be one of the busiest teams in this summer's transfer window as Paolo Di Canio looks to rejuvenate his battered squad from last year.<br />

Sunderland are also set to sign El-Hadji Ba and are also closing in on Benjamin Mendy from Le Havre.
