29 October 2007 - 19:58

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2011. The club have enjoyed a wonderful start to the season again this season.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • Portsmouth enjoyed their best campaign for over 50 years last season and Redknapp has built on that by leading them into seventh place this term.

Redknapp said: "I'm delighted. Since returning to Fratton Park I have had nothing but the utmost support from owner Sasha Gaydamak and chief Peter Storrie.

"They have backed me 100 percent in the transfer market and I am genuinely excited about the group of players I have here with me now.

"The club as a whole is moving in the right direction. It's a great place to be right now and I can only see it getting better."
