Nurnberg And Wolfsburg In A Swap Deal

02 July 2013 - 20:43

Nurnberg have confirmed the summer signing of Emanuel Pogatetz from Wolfsburg as a part of swap deal that would see Timm Klose go the other way. Wolfsburg would also pay their business counterparts a sum of around £4.7million to close the deal.

 • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
 • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
 • Emanuel Pogatetz, who played for West Ham United on a loan, was denied another season with the club by club manager Sam Allardyce. So the Austrian defender, left with lesser opportunities, decided to leave Wolfsburg this summer for a move to Nurnberg.
With reports claiming this deal to be completed, it is understood that Nurnberg will receive around £4.7million in addition to Pogatetz for their highly-rated player Klose, who will move to their Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg.
Nurnberg General Manager Martin Bader reveals his delight and claims the deal to be a successful accomplishment. He said to Deutsche Presseagentur:
“After we decided to accept the decision of Timm Klose to join Wolfsburg, we are delighted to be able to sign an experienced Bundesliga defender in Emanuel Pogatetz"
"He will be strengthening our squad. We will formally sign all necessary papers after he has passed the medical."
