Tottenham considering offer for Adebayor from Besiktas

03 July 2013 - 13:08

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas is considering an offer from Turkish giants Besiktas for Emmanuel Adebayor. The forward is still a part of the club's plans for the season ahead, but Spurs are seriously considering a sale of the forward.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • With Spurs set to pursue their long term target Leandro Damiao this summer, it's almost certain that big names will be allowed to leave White Hart Lane. Jermain Defoe is one such name who has been linked with a transfer away, but the forward is desperate to stay in London and has told the club that the offer must be a special one for him to quit.

On the other hand, Adebayor struggled at times last year when playing in the first team and AVB is ready to let the player leave.

Turkish side Besiktas are very interested in the former Real Madrid, Arsenal and Man City man, but will not match the reported £10 million fee that has been quoted. They are instead ready to offer around £7.5 million but will pay the same salary that the Togo international is currently paid.

Besiktas are hoping to seal a move for a new striker before the end of July.
