Ronaldo Misses United But Will Stay At Madrid

03 July 2013 - 17:28

Former United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has cleared his stand over the speculations about his future at Bernabeu. One of the most discussed transfer saga, as it has become, Ronaldo-to-United, gets another spur as the Portuguese ace admits that he misses Manchester United and English football.

  • Chelsea & Arsenal handed blow in Bundesliga striker pursuit

  • But the Real Madrid star insists that he is happy with his life with the Spanish giants and does not intend to leave the club anytime soon. Ronaldo said in a promotional event at Singapore:

    “I really miss English football.

“For me, it was one of the best years in my career, when I was there at Manchester United. Everyone knows that.

“It is a club that is still in my heart. I really, really miss. But now my life is in Spain.

“I am enjoying playing there too but in the future we never know.

“I am really, really happy in the Spanish league at the moment.”

Ronaldo has been strongly linked with a return to the Premier League champions, where the 28-year-old spent six years, scoring over 100 goals and winning eight trophies. He moved to Madrid in 2009 for record 80million pounds.

He triggered immense speculations about his linking up with the Red Devils, last month, when he tweet quashed the rumours that suggested he had renewed his contract with Bernabeu. It was understood then that the Portuguese captain was prepared to leave the club even before his contract expired. But now it seems that he would see out the remaining period on his contract with Real.

When asked about Barcelona’s new signing of Neymar, Ronaldo expressed his indifference to what his arch-rivals did and stressed over his commitment for Real Madrid.

“Barcelona have an excellent team but I play for Real Madrid, the best team in the world.

“I play with the best players so for me it doesn’t really matter what Barcelona do. I just try and be focused for my team, Real Madrid.”
