Liverpool's target Mkhitaryan has set price

04 July 2013 - 15:14

Liverpool target Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be priced out of a move to Anfield, after his club Shakhtar demanded a huge fee for the attacking midfielder. The Armenian international has also been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund.

  • "There is nothing new about Mkhitaryan," Shakhtar's director of football Sergei Palkin said. "I already have said that Borussia Dortmund offered €23 million for him. This was the sole offer, but our position is €30 million.

"Mkhitaryan doesn't have a release clause in his contract, but it does spell out the penalties for unilateral termination of the contract, which is equal to US$30 million (£19.8 million).
