Manchester City are prepared to allow Brazilian right back Maicon to leave the club, if an appropriate offer is placed for him. City boss Manuel Pellegrini continues to revamp his squad ahead of the next season.
The 31 year old Brazilian has been a letdown for the side, since making his debut for the Blues. He was troubled by injuries his first season and managed to make only 11 appearances for the team.
Manuel Pellegrini is reportedly willing to listen to offers for the player, who is seemingly not a part of his plans for the next season.
Roma is understood to be in the pole position to capture Maicon’s move this summer, but they may not be able to meet his wage demands.
Maicon moved to the Etihad Stadium from Inter Milan in a deal worth £3million in August. This transfer was guided by Roberto Mancini. Manchester City are also looking to bring in Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo to their side as a replacement for Carlos Tevez.
