Italian side Napoli are hoping to complete a deal to sign Bosnia international Edin Dzeko. The ambitious Serie A team, currently managed by Rafa Benitez, are well aware of the talk of a Dzeko departure this summer.
The former Wolfsburg forward has struggled to reproduce the form that made him a legend at the Etihad in their championship winning season back in 2012, last year Dzeko also could not force his way into the first team on a regular basis. New manager Manuel Pellegrini will personally handpick his squad for the new year and admitted recently that some players will be leaving.
Napoli have an enormous budget to spend on new players, believed to be around 45 million Euros. It is new coach Benitez's first priority to sign a new striker, and he is well aware of Dzeko's talents from Benitez's time managing in the Premier League.
There is talk of a 24 million Euro price tag for Dzeko, and that Napoli are prepared to match that fee.
