Real Madrid deny Arsenal approach for Higuain

08 July 2013 - 15:24

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has told reporters that Arsenal have yet to make an offer for Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain. It has been one of the longest running sagas of this season's transfer window, and the news is sure to be disappointing for Gunners fans.

  • Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Crystal Palace, Evans starts
  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal

  • “We don’t want him to go,” Florentino Perez said. “Furthermore, nobody from Arsenal has come here, or made an offer, not €27m, nothing. There is no offer.”

Arsenal were believed to have made two separate offers for the former River Plate striker, who earlier in the season told colleagues that he wanted to leave the Bernabeu.

However, now the Gunners are reportedly out of the race - as talk of a transfer appears to be false anywhere - to sign the striker and Borussia Dortmund are the new favourites to secure his coveted signature.
