Arsenal to bid for Stephane Ruffier

Arsenal have been monitoring St.Etienne's goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier for the past few months and are ready to make a move for the player.

The North London are looking to provide competition to current number one Wojciech Szczesny. 26-year-old Ruffier, signed for the Ligue 1 club in  2011 from As Monaco and has notched up 128 appearances in his six year stay.<br />

The French club are willing to let go of their star goalie if the right offer comes along. Recently Patrick Glanz who is Ruffier's agent said :‘St Etienne would like to keep him but if they get a good offer they would let him go. Currently there has been contact with an English club. Therefore, a future in the Premier League is a possibility.’ <br />

Further talks on the signing are expected to take place between Arsenal and St.Etienne in the upcoming week.<br />
