Manchester City have now added another name to their strike force as the Premier League runners-up have announced the much-awaited signing of Stevan Jovetic. Jovetic’s signing follows that of Alvaro Negredo’s, who sealed a move to the club recently.
City have agreed on a £25.8million deal for the striker, who passed a medical at the Etihad Stadium. The Montenegro international had also been linked with Arsenal and Juventus earlier this summer.<br />
Fiorentina officials were in Manchester on Thursday to discuss the transfer for Jovetic, who arrived the next day to undergo a medical. Fiorentina have confirmed the deal via their twitter account, that reads,<br />
"An agreement has been reached with Manchester City Football Club for the permanent sale of the player Stevan Jovetic."<br />
The City’s official website read:<br />
'Manchester City are delighted to announce the signing of Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina.<br />
'The 23-year-old Montenegro international will now join up with his new team-mates over the weekend.'<br />
Jovetic has become Manuel Pellegrini’s fourth summer signing after Jesus Navas, Fernandinho and Negredo, taking the club’s spending total to £90 million.
