Manchester City make bid for Eduardo Salvio

Manchester City have made an offer of £26m for Benfica winger Eduardo Salvio, according to reports in the Independent.

The Argentine International has been with the Primeira Liga side Benfica for just a year since his arrival from La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid last summer for a fee of £11m. 

The talented star had caught the eyes of a number of clubs during his stint with the Portuguese giants last season making a total of 51 appearances in all competitions scoring an impressive 13 goals and providing 10 assists. 

The new Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is interested in adding Salvio to his list of arrivals to the Ethihad this summer, having already signed the likes Jesus Navas, Alvaro Negredo,Fernandinho and Stevan Jovetic so far.

According to reports in the Portuguese Press, Pellegrini is set to continue with his spending spree, with Benfica President Luis Filipe Vieira Ferreira set to bring in a replacement for Salvio in the upcoming weeks.
