Christian Benteke has decided to stay at Aston Villa. The Belgian forward had been linked with a move to Tottenham but instead decided to sign a new contract with Paul Lambert's side until 2017.
According to reports, Benteke handed in a written transfer request to Villa last month and asked for a transfer away from the Villans.
Since then, though, the player returned back from his summer vacation yesterday and after just two hours of discussions the player put pen to paper on a fresh deal.
Darren Bent is expected to now be sold by Villa, with Newcastle his likely destination.
