Jol: wants some new blood in his squad

Fulham boss Jol still chasing 2 or 3 more transfers

21 July 2013 - 13:49

Fulham's manager Martin Jol wants to sign a few more players despite bringing in Derek Boateng, Maarten Stekelenburg and Fernando Amorebieta. It is understood Fulham are hoping to sign a forward and a defender.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Jol confirmed that there would hopefully be some new faces heading to Craven Cottage in the coming days.

"We are still looking for one or two players to make it 100 per cent. You saw 22, 23 players and they did their best," said Jol at a press conference after the club completed their pre-season tour of Costa Rica.

"We would like to be in the top 10. We were a bit unlucky last year because we missed a lot of players - Moussa Dembele went, then of course top scorer Clint Dempsey went and Danny Murphy, then Mahamadou Diarra was injured.

"Steve Sidwell was suspended for seven games, so it was too much probably on the shoulders of Bryan and I feel this year will be our year again as we have good quality and I feel that we are very positive."
