Mourinho feels Ronaldo won't join United

22 July 2013 - 11:40

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he feels Manchester United have no chance of signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash
  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • Mourinho, who left Real Madrid earlier this summer on the back of a disappointing season, has admitted that the Spanish giants won't be tempted into selling their biggest star for any offer that United make.

“What I know is that Madrid is such a rich club they don’t need to sell.", Mourinho said.

“It is such a rich club I think they can ‘eat’ any offer a club can have on Ronaldo.

“I know Ronaldo loves Manchester United and I know he loves the Premier League but I think he is going to stay.

“It’s just a feeling, I’ve had no contact, nothing like that — it’s just a feeling.”

Manchester United have been relatively quiet in the transfer front this summer as compared to Chelsea and Manchester City and were believed to stage an audacious coup to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

When David Moyes was quizzed about Ronaldo during his official unveiling at the club, he stated that 'United are always interested in the best players'. However, there has not been any concrete reports suggesting that the 20 time English champions have made any formal offer for the Madrid star.
