Manchester United to miss out on Antonio Candreva

23 July 2013 - 06:30

Man Utd's efforts to sign Italian winger Antonio Candreva appear to have failed as the player's club Lazio have announced that the 26-year-old is not for sale. The Italy international is staying put as he is not for sale at any price.

 • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
 • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
 • Candreva helped Lazio to the Coppa Italia last year as his team beat Roma 1-0 and is regarded as one of the club's best players.
David Moyes has recently admitted that he might sell Nani to finance a move for new players, and Candreva is one that could be brought in as a replacement for the Portuguese international.
Candreva, who has spent time with Udinese, Livorno, Juventus, Parma and Cesena prior to Lazio, will stay with the club after chairman Claudio Lotito confirmed a deal would not be agreed: "He's not for sale. Nobody has ever called me."
