Pardew optimistic about Cabaye stay

24 July 2013 - 15:47

<strong>Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that there has been no formal contact made with the club over the transfer of French midfielder Yohan Cabaye. </strong>

  • Calum McFarlane confims double Chelsea injury boost
  • Chelsea set asking price for Nicolas Jackson
  • The 27 year old midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League champions Manchester United this summer but Pardew maintains that there has been no offer for the player.<br />

"Obviously, he's a player I want to keep," Pardew told the Shields Gazette.<br />

"There's no bid for him as we speak now. Until such time as there is, he is a Newcastle United player. Yohan's a total, 100 per cent professional."<br />

The Tyneside club managed to avoid relegation last season and Pardew would be keen on holding onto his most prized asset as they attempt to turn their fortunes around this coming season.
