Manchester City's Midfielder Gareth Barry Unsure About His Future At The Club

Gareth Barry has revealed that he has not been offered a contract renewal by his club Manchester City. He also said that he is open to a move away from the club at the end of the season.

  • The England international has still a year left on his present contract with the club but the midfielder is not sure about his future at the club, considering the imminent competition from the likes of Yaya Toure, Javi Garcia and Fernandinho for his playing position.

The 32-year-old, who joined the club from Aston Villa in a £12m deal four years ago, has been reassured by coach Manuel Pellegrini about his role in the team but he is admittedly disappointed about no offer for contract extension from the club.

    He told the Sunday Mirror:

"I haven't heard anything about a new deal from the club, so it looks as though my contract will run out next summer and I'll have to take it from there.

"The manager has spoken to me. He told me that he sees a place for me in his squad as he wants two quality players in every position.”
