Gallas the hero for Arsenal

03 November 2007 - 14:46

Arsenal have continued their unbeaten run to the season thanks to a late, late goal from William Gallas. The 92nd minute equaliser sealed a 2-2 draw in an absolutely stunning finish to keep Arsenal on top of the Premiership.

  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • It looked like it was going to be defeat for Arsenal, but it was the second season in a row that Man Utd got hit by a late goal as Willy Gallas stepped up and smacked home a fantastic equaliser.

The game was a stunning end to end battle, and Man Utd looked good and mobile throughout the game. Arsenal's performance wasn't as good as they have produced this year, but their team spirit continues to shine through as this young team continues to be rewarded.

The packed out Emirates stadium went silence just before half time as Wayne Rooney hit home to make it 1-0 to Utd.

Just after half time it was the little Spaniard Fabregas again. The midfielder swept home from a cross from Sagna to delight the fans.

However, their joy was short lived as Cristiano Ronaldo continued to be a scourge and got on the scoresheet as he hit home after great work from Saha and Evra on the left flank.

It was perhaps overdue for Man Utd, who had a superb spell of pressure.

However, these games never end in the most ordinary of fashion - and 2 minutes into stoppage time William Gallas was there to hit home and the Emirates erupted.

A stunning end to a stunning game as the top two continue battle for the coveted top spot - but it's Arsenal's for the time being.
