Arsenal's Gervinho closes in on Emirates exit

30 July 2013 - 00:35

Arsenal forward Gervinho has agreed upon a move to join Serie A side this summer. The Italian side are planning to offload one of their players before they sanction the move for the talented Ivorian International.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The Ivorian is odds-on to be sold this sold this summer as he failed to win over the fans at the Emirates, with the Serie A looking his next likely destination.

As Roma are currently managed by Rudi Garcia, who has a close relationship with Gervinho as he was the head coach at Lille during the Ivorian's stint at the French club.

Personal terms for the deal are said to have been concluded, but As Roma are still waiting to find enough funds to finance the deal as they plan to offload a few before the signing of the forward.

Miralem Pjanic currently looks the most likely player to exit the Stadio Olimpico with both Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund interested in the player for a fee of around £12m that would provide As Roma the fee to sanction Gervinho's transfer.
