<strong>Peterborough United have confirmed that they have signed young striker Britt Assombalonga from Watford in a club transfer record deal. </strong>
The 20 year old spent the last season at Southend United where he scored 15 goals in 43 appearances. <br />
Peterborough, who found themselves relegated from the Championship last season, have been in search of a new striker following the departure of Dwight Gayle to Premier League newcomers Crystal Palace.<br />
Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony expressed delight after completing the move of the former Watford striker smashing previous club transfer record held by Tyrone Barnett when he moved from Crawley for £1.1 million.<br />
MacAnthony said on Twitter: "Delighted to finally land our No 1 summer target and smash our transfer record with young Britt Assombalonga signing 4 year deal today!"
