Real Madrid confirm Gareth Bale talks have opened

01 August 2013 - 08:36

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Real Madrid have opened talks over a transfer for Welsh forward Gareth Bale. It is understood that Spurs will only demand a world record transfer fee for the player, who is eager to speak to the Spanish side.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • The Real Madrid manager has admitted that the club are trying their best to convince Tottenham to sell, but at this point no transfer is nearing completion.

"It is difficult to talk about Bale because at the moment he is not a Real Madrid player, but I believe the club is in talks to find a solution and we will see what happens," said Ancelotti.

"I am not used to talking about players who are not in my team and it would not be right to do so."
