Real Madrid confirm Gareth Bale talks have opened

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Real Madrid have opened talks over a transfer for Welsh forward Gareth Bale. It is understood that Spurs will only demand a world record transfer fee for the player, who is eager to speak to the Spanish side.

  • The Real Madrid manager has admitted that the club are trying their best to convince Tottenham to sell, but at this point no transfer is nearing completion.<br />

    "It is difficult to talk about Bale because at the moment he is not a Real Madrid player, but I believe the club is in talks to find a solution and we will see what happens," said Ancelotti.<br />

    "I am not used to talking about players who are not in my team and it would not be right to do so."
