Liverpool have been linked with a transfer for Greek international centre back Kyriakos Papadopoulos but his club, Schalke 04, have moved quickly to deny reports of an imminent transfer to Anfield.
Despite earlier reports that Papadopoulos would be joining Liverpool as a replacement for Martin Skrtel, who is reportedly Napoli bound, Schalke have been quick to rule out a transfer away for the defender.
"There is no truth to those rumours. There is no offer for Papadopoulos, either from Liverpool or any other club. The opposite," said Schalke's general manager Horst Heldt.
Whilst the transfer window remains open Papadopoulos is likely to remain a topic of transfer interest though, as AC Milan and Man Utd have both been linked with the player in the past.
