Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has revealed that they are still chasing the signatures of Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis and Aston Villa front man Darren Bent but has reaffirmed that the club won't be overpaying for them.
The Toons have been in continuous search of a new striker this summer but have so far failed in their efforts to bring Bafetimbi Gomis to the Tyneside club.
Ligue 1 side Lyon have refused to budge from their valuation of the striker and have already rejected Newcastle's initial offer of £4.9 million.
But Pardew is confident that the club will be able to bring in a new striker before the transfer window shuts down at the end of this month.
"I m not concerned about any of them slipping away," said Pardew.
"I think that we are in the market still.
"We will pay what we think is the right price."
Pardew added: "We have always managed to get somebody over the line. I think we will this time."
