Stoke City prepare bid for Hamburg forward Artjoms Rudnevs

Stoke City are preparing to make a £5million bid for Hamburg striker Artjoms Rudnevs, according to reports from the Daily Mail. The Latvian forward has been set as the number one target by Potters' manager Mark Hughes.

  • Hughes was hopeful of signing Nelson Oliviera from Primeira Liga outfit Benfica on loan this summer, but the player snubbed the Premier League side for a move to the French Ligue 1 with Rennes.<br />

    Hughes was clearly not pleased by the decision of the Portuguese International, he told The Sun:  “We thought it would be a footballing decision” <br />

    “It seems to have been more about the money involved. That happens, I’m afraid, and you have to take it on the chin and move on.”<br /><br />As per reports,Bundesliga based outfit Hamburg are willing to sell their Latvian star for a fee in the region of  £5m in order to add up funds to plot a move for Everton forward Nikica Jelavic.
