Barcelona's vice-president Josep-Maria Bartomeu has told reporters that Chilean star Alexis Sanchez will not be sold this summer, despite the interest of both Napoli and Roma.
Sanchez has struggled to force his way into Barca's first team plans in recent years and had been linked with a transfer away from the club. It appears that he is still very much an important player at the Nou Camp though, it is therefore understood that he will not be sold.
"He's not for sale," Bartomeu quipped. "We are confident in his ability.
"It is speculated so much that he might leave, but there is nothing - no formal offers have arrived for the player and he will remain here.
"We are pleased with his performances and we will not put him on the market."
