Arsenal offer trial to Angers midfielder El Jadeyaoui

07 August 2013 - 13:03

Arsenal have offered Ligue 2 side Angers midfielder Alharbi El Jadeyaoui a chance to impress boss Arsene Wenger during his trial according to the French club's general manager Olivier Pickeu.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The 26 year old made 35 appearances for Angers last season scoring 4 goals as he helped them to a midtable finish.

Arsene Wenger has been quiet this summer and the only addition that he has made to the squad is Yaya Sanogo from Auxerre for free.

The Londoners have been monitoring Alharbi for a while and believe he has the potential to make a mark in the Premier League. The Moroccan international is set to train with the first team for the next two days as he attempts to catch the eye of the Professor.

Angers general manager Olivier Pickeu told Ouest-France: "For Alharbi, this is something else.

"We're not in a negotiation phase yet.

"Arsenal have watched him many times, with Morocco as well. We thought it would be nice for him to spend time in England. It is rewarding for him and it is rewarding for us."
