Hull City Tigers agree fee for Kevin Doyle

12 August 2013 - 00:23

Premier League newcomers Hull City Tigers have reportedly started off talks with Kevin Doyle after agreeing a fee of £3m for the striker with League One side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Tigers manager Steve Bruce has been on the search for new forwards for much of the summer transfer window, despite bringing in the likes of Danny Graham and Yannick Sagbo.

Doyle who represents Republic of Ireland at the national level, played for Wolves against Gillingham yesterday but is considered not to be part of manager Kenny Jackett's long-term plans, mainly due to his high wage demands.

Hull are willing to acquire the services of Doyle but want the Republic of Ireland International to agree a pay-cut from his current £40,000 a week salary before any move can be materialised, according to The Mirror.

The 29-year-old has notched up 30 goals in 150 appearances at Wolves so far.
