Manchester United captain Vidic wants Rooney to stay

12 August 2013 - 08:56

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has urged his team mate Wayne Rooney to remain at Old Trafford as he believes there is no point in leaving 'the best club in the world'.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The future of Wayne Rooney still remains unclear despite David Moyes once again affirming that the striker won't be sold this summer.

The 31 year old Serbian has been the subject of transfer speculation himself over the years but has remained a red devil over the years.

Vidic said: "There's so much speculation, so much talk about whether he'll leave or stay.

"He's at the best club in the world. I believe Man United is the biggest club in the world and I think there's no point to go anywhere.

"I have to say the last four years I was in that position as well. People were talking about me leaving the club.

"But I'm still here and I'm enjoying playing for this club. Nothing has changed."
