Matthias Ginter denies Arsenal switch

13 August 2013 - 14:36

Freiburg midfielder Matthias Ginter has cancelled out speculation linking him with a move to the Gunners insisting he is happy to ply his trade in the Bundesliga.

 • Chelsea star to miss FA Cup final with hamstring injury
 • Chelsea to move for Bendegúz Kovács?
 • Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was reported keen on the signing of the talented German youth star, with some media sources asserting that the North London club had agreed a transfer fee for the player.
However, Ginter has rubbished claims of a possible switch to the Premier League as of now.

He said: “I’m eight years in Freiburg. I go through all youth teams and feel really good,” Ginter is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. "There is also no reason at all to switch to another club this summer. I can say 100 per cent that I stay in Freiburg.”

Ginter's comment came after Freiburg Sporting Director Saier claimed that the Bundesliga outfit had not been approached by the Gunners for the midfielder.
“That’s nonsense. We have not received an inquiry and there are no thoughts about selling him,” Saier told Badische Zeitung last week.
