The Hammers have reportedly made a £3m bid for Besiktas striker Hugo Almeida according to reports in Turkey.
According to Milliyet, the Turkish club are considering to offload Almeida as they try to weigh up a bid for Tottenham's Emmanuel Adebayor.
Besiktas Director of Football Onder Ozen recently said : "We need to restructure our wages and negotiate a more reasonable contract deal with him.
"We will consider offers for Almeida, especially if we can't reach an agreement regarding his wages."
Almeida who previously plyed his trade with Porto and Werder Bremen, spoke of his desire to play in the Premier League or La Liga.
He told A Bola last summer: "It is no secret and I've said several times, I would like to play in England or Spain sometime."
Almeida scored nine goals in 20 appearances for Besiktas last season.
