Eriksen won't move to a club not competing in Champions League

15 August 2013 - 13:19

Ajax Amsterdam youngster Christian Eriksen's agent has cleared the air over his future saying he would only move to a club which is competing in the Champions League.

 • Chelsea plan shock swoop for Sporting CP star
 • Chelsea have clear stance on signing Victor Osimhen
 • Premier League duo of Tottenham and Liverpool have been interested in the highly talented 21 year old but the recent comments from his agent must take the wind out of their pursuit.
"There has been contact with a club from Germany and one from Italy," Eriksen's agent Martin Schoots told Tuttomercatoweb.
"He will only leave Ajax to join a team that are automatically qualified for the Champions League and fighting for the title every season.
"He is still very young, very appreciative towards Ajax and happy to stay. At the moment we are not in talks with Ajax but we will be if a move doesn't materialise in this window."
The Denmark international is entering into the final year of his contract and Ajax would be tempted to cash in on him rather than lose him for free a year later. However, Schoots claimed that the midfielder won't leave the club as a free agent.
"One thing is for certain, he won't leave on a free transfer."
