Real Madrid set to sign Gareth Bale

Real Madrid are set to sign Tottenham Hotspurs' Welsh international midfielder Gareth Bale for a reported fee of £93m plus Fabio Coentrao, according to some reports. This would mean breaking the world record transfer fee.

Real Madrid have reportedly left the number 11 shirt vacant amidst a wave of rumours linking them to the players for most of the summer, and now appear to have finally aqcuired their target man.&nbsp;<br />

Bale can play anywhere on the left side of the pitch, and has made 146 league appearances for Spurs in 5 seasons since signing from Southampton in 2007 for &pound;7m. He scored 42 goals in the process, 26 of which were last season.&nbsp;
