Sources in Italy suggest that a deal has been agreed between Tottenham and Roma for the transfer of Argentina midfielder Erik Lamela. The player will move to White Hart Lane in what is being valued as a £31million record breaking deal.
Lamela has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and on August 14th, Spurs were first linked with a move for the player. With Tottenham ready to spend the incoming funds of the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid, Spurs have been busy finding a quick replacement and Brazilian star Willian will also be joining Lamela at the club.
It is understood that Spurs' sporting director Franco Baldini has been in Italy overseeing discussions for the last 3 days, and that a deal could be wrapped up by the end of this week.
