West Brom striker Nicolas Anelka looks set to announce his retirement from professional football after clearing his locker room at the club's training ground on Thursday, according to the Telegraph.
The Baggies manager Steve Clarke had tried to induce the former French striker in changing his mind but Anelka did not train with his team-mates on Thursday as he walked out of the club. <br /><br />The former French International signed as a free-agent for the Baggies this summer, but having experienced a recent tragedy in his personal life and talks to a satisfying solution yet to come up with the Premier League side, the 34-year-old looks set to pave way from the footballing spectrum. <br /><br />Manager Steve Clarke had earlier claimed that the Frenchman did not deserve the unwanted reputation and he would prove to be a big hit at the Hawthorns this season.<br />
