Jack Wilshere hints at leaving Arsenal If Wenger quits

24 August 2013 - 06:46

Arsenal star midfielder Jack Wilshere expressed his thoughts over the letter from the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust, which denounced the decision to open talks with the Gunners' manager Arsene Wenger over a new contract.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • In an interview with Zapsportz, the English International reacted with a whip at the Arsenal Supporters' Trust.

He said : "Arsene Wenger has been there for so many years and he’s always delivered trophies. OK we’ve had a little dip in the last five or six years but he’s a great manager and people who question his ability are ridiculous. He’s qualified for the Champions League for 16 years so I think he’s the right man for the job."

Wilshere also suggested to the fans that he could quit the Gunners, if Wenger was to be asked to exit from the North London club, saying “Arsenal are always in my heart and by signing a deal for the next five years shows my commitment to them and their commitment to me so at the moment everything is good… I want to win things with Arsenal and I want to be there in the future but if the boss leaves then things could change.”

It will be interesting to see how Arsene Wenger plys his trade in the transfer market before the end of the summer transfer window, as the Gunners visit Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
