Samuel Eto'o heading for Chelsea transfer?

25 August 2013 - 09:07

Chelsea are to push through a deal that will see Anzhi duo Willian and Samuel Eto'o complete transfers to Stamford Bridge this week. Samuel Eto'o, the highest paid player in the world, arrives in London for talks on Sunday evening whilst Willian has reportedly already agreed terms with the Blues.

  • The 32-year-old forward Eto'o will put pen to paper on a two year contract, effectively ending the Blues' pursuit of Wayne Rooney of Manchester United. It appears that Chelsea have been frustrated with Man Utd's efforts to keep hold of Rooney and not selling him to their biggest rivals and instead will sign Eto'o as an interim signing until they can finally complete a deal for the England international.

Samuel Eto'o is believed to be ready to take a paycut to move to England as he wants to have another stab at winning a Champions League title. The Cameroonian forward has also been told he will be spending time with the young strikers at Stamford Bridge, for example Romelu Lukaku, in an effort to hone the young squad's best starlets.

It is understood that Chelsea are about to pay £30m for Willian and Eto'o in a double deal, with bother players earning around £150,000 per week at the club.
