Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner, who has long been linked with a move away from the Emirates, is on the verge of a transfer to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace. Palace have already signed Marouane Chamakh from the Gunners this summer.

Bendtner has been told that he is free to leave the Gunners after Arsene Wenger told the Danish international he has no future at the club. Prospective deals to Eintracht Frankfurt and then VfB Stuttgart fell through, supposedly because of Bendtner's lofty salary demands.<br />

The striker has fallen out of favour at Arsenal and would be guaranteed first team football at Selhurst Park under manager Ian Holloway.
