Chelsea to wrap up Samuel Eto'o deal

Chelsea will today announce the signing of Cameroon star Samuel Eto'o on a one year deal. Manager Jose Mourinho had hoped to sign Wayne Rooney from Manchester United, but that deal has fallen through and the Blues have now instead opted for a the Anzhi striker.

  • The 32-year-old has put pen to paper on a one year contract at Stamford Bridge, with the option of a further year at the end of the season. The player, who is the highest paid player in the world, moved to Russia back in 2011 to join Anzhi. Since the club are in a dire financial situation, Eto'o had been told he is free to leave.



    Chelsea have already signed Willian from Anzhi this summer and will now have an abundance of options up front, with Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku all available.
