Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott is hopeful that with a spell of good form, he can persuade manager Manuel Pellegrini that the defender is worth a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.
With Lescott's contract due to expire at the end of this season, the centre back is desperate to put pen to paper on a fresh deal that will keep him at City for the remainder of his playing career.<br />
"I have expressed a number of times that nothing more would please me than to sign an extension. If that negotiating ever happens I will be there with my pen ready to sign," said Lescott.<br />
Lescott has so far been an important member of the first team squad this season with injuries to club captain Vincent Kompany improving Lescott's chances of regular playing time.
