AS Monaco have confirmed signing former Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia on a five year deal only days after the youngster unilaterally bought out his contract.
The 20 year old France international has been in demand this summer with both Real Madrid and Arsenal thought to be interested in the highly rated midfielder's signature. However, the Ligue 1 side have once again shown their ambitions for the coming season by securing his signature until 2018.
The midfielder decided to unilaterally buy out his contract after he grew frustrated with Sevilla's decision to not let him leave this summer.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a firm admirer of the Frenchman and has been hoping to sign him this summer but has once again ended up losing out on a potential transfer target.
