Martin Demichelis joins Man City

Manchester City have wrapped up a deal for Argentinian defender Martin Demichelis in a deal worth approximately £3.5m. The player arrives at Manuel Pellegrini's side from Atletico Madrid, who yesterday wrapped up a deal for Toby Alderweireld.

Man City were frantatically trying to secure a deal for a new defender before the end of the transfer window this week after an injury to Vincent Kompany left the former Premier League champions short on defensive options.<br />

Demichelis left Malaga for Atletico Madrid at the end of last season, but has decided to move after a short space of time already.<br />

The Argentinian has signed a two year contract at the Etihad Stadium.
