Gareth Barry and Everton are currently locked in talks over a potential loan move. The midfielder has been told he is free to leave Man City for a nominal loan fee and it is expected that Man City have rubber stamped a loan transfer already.
The England international midfielder is ready to quit his current club having slipped into the reserve team under new manager Manuel Pellegrini. The former Aston Villa midfielder will sign a one year deal at Everton.
Barry, 32, knows that he needs to be playing regular first team football if he is to guarantee himself a place in England's squad ahead of the World Cup next summer.
